Grace Community Church
Fuqua & Partners Architects was pleased to be able to continue our relationship with Grace Community Church in Brentwood, TN to masterplan and design the new third phase of their church building. Phase III included an addition to the existing Grace Community Church. Because the Phase III project creates a new primary sanctuary for Grace Community Church, this Phase also became the new “front door” for Grace Community Church. In keeping with the original concept of a “Lodge” atmosphere, the new main entrance incorporates glue laminated columns and beams in the entry design that reflect the tall, slender pines common to the region. The new sanctuary includes large glue laminated arches that support a large open cupola and a second level of balcony seating. The main sanctuary level is a sloped floor system that incorporates 684 fixed theater style seats and the balcony level is a stepped platform design that incorporates 260 fixed theater style seats. Phase III provides a new main lobby for the full church, providing a direct connection between previous phases. The new main lobby features a large open monumental stair case that features 3-dimensional artwork created by a Church member and also features a “timeline” wall that tells the history of Grace Community Church, created by a Church member.
