BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA

APRIL 2019

Fuqua & Partners Architects, P.C. is pleased to announce it is the recipient of the BEST OF HEALTHCARE LARGE and BEST OF CORPORATE LARGE awards at the 2019 IDIE Awards presented by The International Interior Design Association – Alabama Chapter (IIDA-AL). The awards showcase the exemplary work of the chapter’s members and celebrates excellence in interior design. Winners were announced and honored at an event on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Regions Field in Birmingham, Alabama.

Fuqua & Partners Architects, P.C. submitted its Hospice Family Care project for consideration in the Best of Healthcare Large category. Hospice Family Care is located in Huntsville, Alabama and is a facility designed for people with terminal illnesses who need constant medical care but prefer to spend their final days in a homelike setting rather than in a hospital. The clinical aspects of the facility are hidden from view and the feeling of home supports both the patients and their families during a difficult time of life.

Fuqua & Partners Architects, P.C. submitted HudsonAlpha Institute of Biotechnology’s Paul Propst Center for Precision Medicine project for consideration in the Best of Corporate Large category. The Paul Propst Center for Precision Medicine is the newest addition to the campus of Hudson Alpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville, Alabama. It is a 105,000-square-foot, two-story building that is home to the main components of HudsonAlpha’s education and research programs. The design goal was to create an aesthetic similar to the main campus while still introducing some new captivating features.

The biennial awards program invites organizations, firms and furniture dealers to submit projects completed in the previous two years. Submissions are judged by a panel of professional peers who practice in other market areas. This year’s awards drew 91 submissions from 30 firms and furniture dealers.

IIDA-AL is the state’s association for the commercial interior design industry, providing resources to professionals and students in the industry and their clients to advance the profession and enhance business value. The chapter has City Centers located in Birmingham and Huntsville.
